Differences Between Librarian and Librarian+

There are currently two Librarian products.

Librarian – This library software is aimed at primary schools.

Librarian+ – This library software is aimed at secondary schools. It has all the Librarian features plus some additional features that suit a secondary school setting.

The annual subscriptions for these products are different, with Librarian+ being more expensive than Librarian.

Librarian+ features include:

  • Email loan reminders to library users. Librarian customers can purchase an email add-on, which is an additional annual fee on top of the annual subscription
  • Add library user images to the site
  • Issue fines (for overdue loans/lost books) and make payments
  • Type in student names in addition to barcodes when issuing or viewing loans
  • Ability to customise the theme on the library site
  • View all student notes

Currently, you can see the difference between Librarian+ and Librarian schools by the Librarian icon that displays on the library site. Librarian+ customers also have access to a secondary theme that includes a more modern, subtle colour palette and a sidebar instead of a top menu.
